Orlando will become the location of the third Florida Topgolf site, company officials announced at the PGA Show, taking place at the Orange County Convention Center. Topgolf Orlando, a 65,000-square-foot facility, will be located at Convention Way and Universal Boulevard, across from the convention center.
"Orlando is one of the biggest entertainment and tourism markets in the United States," said Zach Shor, Topgolf's vice president of real estate development. "With more than 50 million people per year going for the theme parks and conventions, Topgolf is sure to be a go-to venue for people looking to entertain and be entertained."
Construction will begin next month and the venue is expected to open in 2017.
The entertainment center offers competitive golfing games with technology that tracks accuracy and distance of players' shots. It will also have space for anyone looking for a laid-back experience, featuring more than 230 televisions and a food and beverage menu.
The three-level venue will also have up to 3,000 square feet of event space and 102 hitting bays that can fit up to six players at one time. Up to 450,000 visitors are expected to visit the Orlando Topgolf facility in its first year in operation.
The facility is expected to create 450 full- and part-time jobs and can have an economic impact of more than $264.5 million over the next decade.
