Passenger Traffic Continues To Soar At Orlando International Airport

February passenger traffic numbers continued to reach new highs at Orlando International Airport (MCO). Both domestic and international passenger totals registered double-digit growth for the month, up a combined 13.1 percent.

“February initiated the beginning of what promises to be a very busy peak travel season,” says Frank Kruppenbacher, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. ‘To accommodate this growth and deliver the level of customer service expected, we are moving forward to expand our North Terminal capacity to meet the demand.”

February Statistical Data:

  • Domestic traffic increased 12.66 percent in February with 2,906,381 passengers
  • International traffic climbed 16.44 percent with a total of 415,814 arrivals and departures
  • Overall traffic was up 13.12 percent with a combined 3,322,195 passengers moving through MCO
  • The rolling 12-month total in February brought MCO to 39,582,971 passengers, another traffic record for Orlando International up 9.46 percent over the previous year at this time
  • For the month, the number of operations at Orlando Executive Airport also increased 4.7 percent

During February, 24 of our 32 scheduled airlines posted an increase in seat capacity adding more than 470,000 seats. That is up 13.7 percent over last year. Leading the way was Frontier Airlines which added 145,000 seats to the market.
